This is not just fashion.
This is wearable art.
PLAID-À-PORTER
Voice guide:

Patchwork, as a traditional tailoring art, has its origins in the need to use leftover fabric and create functional and aesthetically pleasing textiles. This art form has undergone an evolutionary process over time and has become an expression of creativity, craftsmanship and individuality.
The special feature of patchwork lies not only in the use of fabric scraps, but also in the craftsmanship of combining different patterns and colors harmoniously with each other. Every garment that PLAID-À-PORTER creates from these artistic blankets is therefore not just a fashion item, but a one of a kind piece that reflects the diversity and beauty of the patchwork tradition.
“Plaid-à-Porter by Estelle Adeline Trasoglu turns patchwork and upcycling into objects of desire. These designs evoke emotion, tell stories, and carry a unique fashion DNA – inclusive, wearable, and environmentally conscious. A collection with unmistakable identity and soul.”

ZERO WASTE
Zero waste in fashion is not just a concept, but a transformative philosophy that is fundamentally changing the way we produce and consume clothing. This approach strives to make optimal use of all resources in the manufacturing process to reduce waste to an absolute minimum. This requires not only creative design, but also a deep understanding of the properties of the materials used. At PLAID-À-PORTER, every inch of patchwork plaid has its value: matching baby and children's jackets are created from the leftover pieces for adults. Same same, but smaller: Cute, cozy, conscious & clever.
RECOGNITION

The fascination of upcycling lies in the uniqueness of each piece that is created. Each piece of clothing tells a story, bears the traces of its previous life and becomes an unmistakable expression of style and personality.
Upcycling in fashion goes beyond just environmental protection - it is a creative rebellion against the throwaway culture. By redesigning and transforming materials, PLAID-À-PORTER promotes a sustainable mindset and invites you to look at fashion more consciously, as something with a value, a history, a future. Signs of age, faded colors, spots or unevenness are not defects, but rather make each piece unique. Just like with ourselves.
A CULTURAL STATEMENT

Owning a unique fashion item not only means wearing something special, but also having a personal connection to its creation. It's a conscious choice for originality in a world often dominated by mass production and trends.
Every PLAID-À-PORTER piece is not just a piece of clothing, but a piece of art that underlines personality and individual style. It's not about just wearing fashion - but about your own uniqueness, and doing so with pride.

ABOUT
Ceçi n'est pas une marque, ceçi est PLAID-À-PORTER.
Bienvenue at PLAID-À-PORTER – a label that was born out of a passion for bold fashion and a deep understanding of sustainability. Estelle Adeline Trasoglu, former fashion editor and social media expert at renowned fashion magazines such as VOGUE GERMANY, INSTYLE, ELLE and HARPER'S BAZAAR brought her years of expertise to founding this unique label in 2023. Off-the-peg fast fashion, greenwashing and endless trendy consumption? No thanks.
"For PLAID-À-PORTER I carefully curate particularly valuable textiles that are not only sustainable, but also unique in the truest sense of the word: vintage patchwork blankets from all over the world, some of which are over 90 years old and have been handmade for months. These tailoring works of art from which my one of a kind collections are created were made from textile leftovers and are therefore already unique upcycling treasures. My goal is to celebrate traditional tailoring, promote individual style and make fashion consumption conscious and sustainable. I always loved wearing a one of a kind piece of clothing. This makes it something special, emotional, away from utility and towards art.
Every piece in my collection is as unique as you are and only exists once in the world. PLAID-À-PORTER is not just about fashion; It's about creating a special, unique attitude to life - clothing that you appreciate and love for a lifetime, pass on to the next generation and continue to weave the connection between the past and the future. I got the appreciation for cross-generational clothing from my French family, and I also honor this vision in my label.
As the mother of a two-year-old son, I am inspired not only by the fun of style twinning with my little one, but also by the responsibility to produce as little textile waste as possible. The childrens line of PLAID-À-PORTER "Comme les grands" (German: like the big ones) is not only my responsibility towards the future as a parent, but also a conscious decision to put every inch of the valuable plaids to good use - be it in the form of matching baby and children's jackets or as stylish knot bags. Sustainability can and must look beautiful - because ultimately you buy what makes you feel even stronger, more beautiful and more comfortable.

THE PROCESS
Every piece at Plaid-à-Porter is handmade in Estelle’s Berlin atelier. Some begin as freeform drapings directly on the mannequin, where the fabric guides the silhouette. Others evolve intuitively on the cutting table, shaped by limitations – or possibilities – of the vintage materials themselves.Silhouettes often defy categories: oversized, gender-fluid, made to be shared across bodies and generations. The design ethos resists standardisation and embraces difference – because no two textiles are alike, and no two people are either.Estelle follows a strict zero-waste philosophy. What’s left behind from one garment becomes the beginning of another.Scraps of 1970s crochet are combined into intricate maxi dresses made from dozens of rescued motifs. Fragments of tapestry become sculptural collars, statement bags, or tiny jackets for children – pieces full of character, charm, and play. This is fashion with circular intention, emotional depth and a tactile sense of storytelling.Clothes not just for wearing – but for feeling, passing on, and cherishing.
THE SPACE //
TEXTILE DROP OFF,
STYLE PICK UP
At Plaid-à-Porter, the past is not only preserved – it is reimagined. In our Berlin atelier, we offer a unique service: textile drop-off meets style pick-up.
Clients are invited to bring their own vintage or heirloom textiles – a forgotten patchwork quilt, a hand-crocheted throw, a piece of delicate family lace. From these deeply personal fabrics, we create bespoke pieces that honour their history while boldly rewriting it.
Some of our most treasured commissions were born this way:
A century-old lace veil from a great-grandmother’s trousseau was transformed into a wedding dress – modern, sensual, and striking, yet intimately rooted in lineage and memory. A fragment of embroidered linen became a structured jacket, giving new life to domestic heritage with contemporary flair.
These creations are more than garments – they are emotional heirlooms for the future. Bold, bespoke, and deeply meaningful.
