THE BAROQUE PEARL STUDS
 
A study in asymmetry, proportion and natural form from the PLAID-À-PORTER × LüSchwarz collaboration.
The Baroque Pearl Studs reinterpret the classic pearl earring through an intentionally asymmetric composition. Two naturally formed freshwater baroque pearls are suspended at different lengths, creating a quiet imbalance that gives the pair its distinctive character.
One earring measures approximately 10 mm, while its counterpart extends to 13 mm. This subtle difference becomes the defining gesture of the design—barely perceptible at first, yet creating a beautifully irregular line when worn.
Each pearl is selected for its exceptional AAA lustre and naturally sculptural form. Rather than striving for symmetry, the design embraces the individual character of the pearl: its organic silhouette, irregular surface and softly changing reflection of light.
The pearls are set in 925 sterling silver with a refined gold plating, allowing the warm metallic finish to complement the natural luminosity of the freshwater pearls.
Small in scale but rich in character, the Baroque Pearl Studs are an understated study of imperfection—two related forms, deliberately unequal, brought together as a pair.
