SEKIGUCHI — AAAA ROUND BAROQUE PEARL NECKLACE
A study in purity, luminosity and extraordinary natural form from the PLAID-À-PORTER × LüSchwarz collaboration.
The Sekiguchi Necklace is defined by an exceptional rarity: a composition of freshwater baroque pearls that are remarkably round and almost perfectly spherical.
Measuring approximately 15–16 mm, each pearl possesses an unusually generous scale and an extraordinary AAAA lustre. While baroque pearls are traditionally celebrated for their organic irregularity, this particular selection reveals an entirely different side of their natural beauty—the unexpected perfection of form.
The pearls appear almost like luminous spheres, their surfaces catching and reflecting light with a quiet intensity. Their near-perfect roundness creates a sense of rhythm and continuity, transforming the necklace into an almost architectural composition.
A restrained brass clasp completes the piece, adding a warm, understated detail while allowing the pearls to remain entirely in focus.
At 43 cm, Sekiguchi sits close to the neckline, where the generous pearls form a striking line of light and volume.
What makes this necklace particularly rare is the selection itself: finding freshwater baroque pearls of this size, quality and remarkably spherical shape is an uncommon occurrence. Each pearl remains naturally formed, yet together they create an almost impossible sense of uniformity.
A study in the tension between nature and perfection.
